Styling your home can be hard to decide on straight away, especially if you have many inspo photos and colour schemes pinned on Pinterest! We’ve already done a blog post about how your personality can affect your colour scheme, but have you ever considered styling your home according to your music taste?
Music can hold a lot of sentimental value for a lot of people, but also some people can actually see colours when listening to it. An experiment was conducted to see which colours were matched with which genre of music, and here are the results.
Rock Music
Rock music can be filled with heavy sounds, gruff voices, lots of guitar and drums – creating an earthy mix of colours. Such as tones of brown like tortilla, tawny, and champagne, and darkers colours like artichoke with shadow accents, and small hits of crimson.
Country Music
It’s fair to say that brown is the first colour you think of when you listen to country music. But it’s more than just the dusty browns. Add in some deep red and white tones, or a creamy tone, and you’ve got yourself a warm homestead.
Pop Music
Having contrasting colours seemed to be the theme for this musical genre. Whether it was a mixture of navy, abalone and cream, or blue, jade green and gold, there’s a touch of brightness to this space.
Rap Music
Perhaps the most unusual colour palette is the rap room which is as bright and bold as can be. This genre makes use of so many different samples beneath the lyrics, and Home Advisor suggest this may be the reason for the vast array of colours seen. From cream to fire, pearl and hot pink, the colours cover the spectrum in both hue and intensity. Styling all these colours at once would be a challenge, but never say never!
